#StopWildlifeTrafficking

"The United States is one of the largest markets for wildlife trafficking in the world"

Many Americans recognize that wildlife crime and the associated illegal wildlife trade are major culprits for the worldwide decline of iconic species, like elephants, rhinos, and sharks. Fewer understand the reasons and details behind the wildlife trade, i.e. what drives the trade and what countries are benefitting or suffering from the trade. However, most don't realize that the United States plays a major role in perpetuating the illegal wildlife trade.

The organization WildAid has partnered with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to educate American about this issue and encourage responsible and wildlife-conscious consumer choices when traveling abroad or domestically. Watch the video below to learn more about this issue and what to avoid yourself when you're traveling.
